Our host, Msizi James, along with fellow business owners and industry advisors discussed the launch of “Business Reimagined” as experts shared insights, practical tips and inspiration on how to transform businesses to become more resilient and relevant in a post – COVID economy.

Naledzani Mosomane
Naledzani Mosomane is the Head of Enterprise Development at Standard Bank South Africa. She is a Chartered Accountant with a Masters in Development Finance (cum laude) from the University of Stellenbosch Business School.
Her experience spans across multiple disciplines including operations, risk and governance, finance, and strategy development and implementation. She has worked across the continent and is passionate about creating sustainable solutions to improve economic development particularly through enterprise development. Her mom is an entrepreneur and therefore she fully understands the challenges that come with owning and sustaining a business and the role that SMEs have in contributing to the development of their communities.
She is a mom to a very busy 5 year old and in her personal capacity volunteers her time by advising small businesses on financial management. She loves spending time with her family and exploring new places and adventures.

Bronwyn Williams

Bronwyn Williams
Bronwyn has over a decade’s experience in strategic management, trend research and foresight; consulting to clients in the public and private sector across the African continent. Her educational credentials include tertiary qualifications in Marketing Management (University of Johannesburg),
Economics (University of London), Foresight (University of Manchester), and Future Studies (University of Stellenbosch). She is currently completing a Masters in Applied Economics from the University of Bath.
Today, as a partner at Flux Trends, Bronwyn’s research focuses on how macro socio-economic trends and emerging technologies will impact businesses, industries, and nations in the near and long term future. Part economist, part strategist, Bronwyn’s particular areas of expertise includes fintech trends, alternative economic models, and sustainable future design.
Bronwyn’s clients include Top 40 JSE listed companies, The South African Reserve Bank, African government departments, and global business leaders. She also guest lectures for leading business schools, such as Duke, GIBS, UCT, and the University of Johannesburg. Bronwyn is also the co-author of The Future Starts Now, published by Bloomsbury UK, and a well- known media commentator on future trends and economic trajectories for network channels including CNBC Africa and ENCA News. She is also a member of the Association of Professional Futurists.

As Head of Content, Foresight Facilitator, and our Membership Concierge Tumelo Mojapelo oversees and directs the research undertaken and content generated by the Flux Trends team. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the trends analysis space, her mission is to empower entrepreneurs and business people to make better decisions through an understanding of trends. After completing her tertiary education, she found a home at Flux Trends and has been with the company since 2010. Among reports and trend briefings too numerous to mention, Tumelo oversaw and co-authored the ground breaking trend report, New Urban Tribes 2018: Consciously Diverse. Her keen eye and attention to detail naturally elevates business partnerships as she seamlessly connects unrelated factors and events that have the potential to disrupt current business models and society. She has also worked on the 2012 Flux Trend Review, The New Urban Tribes book (2012) and has facilitated the Flux Trends’ Future of Work Masterclass with Dion Chang (2018). She also presented an ABSA experience segment that highlighted mental health and wellness in the workplace. Tumelo brings her delightful and playful sense of humour, sharp wit, intelligence and curiosity to the Flux team. She has an old and inquisitive soul that is constantly on a mission to uncover fresh and complex anomalies in the world of trends.

Moshima Shongwe

Moshima Shongwe
Moshima is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa and holds a BCom Honours in Information Systems from University of Cape Town. A business leader with nineteen years of work experience and a strong focus in technology, most of which were within financial services sector. She has extensive experience in delivering strategic business initiatives like modernization and digitisation of business solutions. Moshima currently heads the Digital & eCommerce portfolio for SA Business Clients where she is responsible for shaping the digital offering that delivering value and superior experience to client needs at every stage of their business journey.
Moshima believes that, “through collaborative digital connections we can collectively foster positive impact and contribute towards meaningful growth for Africa and its people”. Thus, her ongoing mission is to constantly unlock the opportunities that technology provides; while also striving to understand and eliminate barriers to adoption, scaling and commercialisation of digital solutions.

Dr Adriana Marais
Theoretical Physicist
Technologist and advocate for off-world exploration
Dr Adriana Marais
Dr Adriana Marais has a background in research, her award-winning PhD and postdoctoral work in quantum biology focused on photosynthesis and the origins of the building blocks of life in space. She is an internationally renowned advocate for off-world exploration, and has given hundreds of talks to audiences on all seven continents of this planet, as well as been featured in documentaries including AOL’s ‘Citizen Mars’, and CNN’s ‘Africa’s Space Race’.
Adriana is currently a Director at the Foundation for Space Development Africa, developing Africa’s first mission to the Moon, the Africa2Moon Project. She is Scientific Moderator on Space Resources with the Geneva Science and Diplomacy Anticipator, and Chair of Space Sciences at Tod’Aérs Aeronautics and Space Research. She is also Faculty at the Singularity University and Duke Corporate Education.
In 2019, Adriana founded Proudly Human, and she is currently leading the organisation’s Off-World Project: a series of off-grid habitation experiments in the most extreme environments on the planet, in preparation for life on the Moon, Mars and beyond, as well as a sustainable future on Earth.

Zandile Mkwanazi
Zandile is also the founder of EmpowerXx, a women in STEM focused tech recruitment startup focused on accelerating women in leadership positions within tech companies.
Zandile has been recognized as a Mail and Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans in 2020. In 2021, she was awarded Social entrepreneur of the year by the Santam Women of the Year Awards. In her personal capacity, she has been a mentor to young aspiring women in tech and female entrepreneurs. Zandile believes in creating opportunities that impact both the social and economic status for women as well as the progress and development of technology companies who are currently still predominantly white male dominated.
