Project Description

The HIV epidemic has been with the world for a very long time. In the past 10 years South Africa has done very well in responding to HIV reducing new HIV infections by up to 50%.The country has also done very well in putting more than 4 milliion people on Anti-retroviral treatment saving millions of lives.

The country has a vision of an AIDS free generation by 2030, part of this vision is predicated on the fact a myriad of programmes are implemented by multiple actors to put an end to HIV. In 2020 most of these efforts have been slowed due to the Corona virus, prompting the UNAIDS country director to declare that the world could have lost 10 years of progress in the fight against the HIV epidemic. During this discussion, panelists will discuss how to regain the lost ground on HIV.
