Any small business owner will tell you; the last couple of years haven’t been the easiest. Load shedding alone has rapidly increased operational costs for many. They’ve also had to deal with water outages, high interest rates, and many other challenges. Nedbank is committed to supporting small businesses by sharing ways on how to rise above these challenges.
Watch as we bring experts to share their journey on how their businesses are thriving and practical strategies that you can implement in your business.

Raghmah Solomon
When her business is not going according to plan, Raghmah will call her business coach and explore areas that can be improved and existing strategies that may not be working. She will tackle the biggest challenge first and slowly chip away at the problem until it becomes manageable. Raghmah says that she is blessed with a “killer team” who rally together and can achieve anything that they put their minds to. Raghmah has recently been through some trying times. The business was struggling but she was too ill to get out of bed. She managed to arrange food drop offs for herself from friends and family and she briefed a colleague who took over the management of the company for a month.
This taught her what true vulnerability is and she came to appreciate all her blessings. She has learned that to give people her best she needs to be the best version of herself. She lost staff, family, friends and almost her husband over this Covid-19 period. She also lost revenue for the first time in her life. Despite this, she persevered and never gave up. This has proved to her that she is not a quitter. Raghmah scored well on the locus of control measure. People with a high locus of control tend to take responsibility for how things turn out in their lives. Raghmah understands that the faster she can achieve business stability, the bigger her profits will be. This will ultimately lead to business growth.
