Now in its eighth year and billed as \u2018SA\u2019s biggest board meeting,\u2019 The Directors Event<\/em> \u2013\u00a0 sponsored by BCX, and part of the Sunday Times Top 100 Companies<\/em> profile \u2013 will focus on the impact of Covid-19 on business and society. \u00a0This comes at a point at which the country continues to adjust to the new way of living due to the virus, and the economic impact of the KwaZulu-Natal riots and recent floods. \u00a0The Directors Event<\/em> is an opportunity to evaluate the areas of society and the economy that require\u00a0rehabilitation\u00a0and support, from both the public and private sectors. It is where the business community come together to unpack major issues affecting the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

This year, three expertly moderated panel discussions will focus on reigniting the spirit of ubuntu where the public sector, business, academia and NGO\u2019s discuss and debate the shortest and most effective paths to recovery.<\/p>\n

The Directors Event<\/em> attracts an audience of more than 300 senior management and C-level executives to a full-day conference at the Sandton Convention Centre. In 2021, the digital event drew an online audience of more than 1500 delegates.<\/p>\n

High profile speakers have most recently included Tsakani Malukeke (Auditor-General South Africa), Herman Warren (Director: Africa \u2013 Corporate Network, The Economist), Andre de Ruyter (CEO of Eskom), Wendy Lucas-Bull (former Chairman of Absa), as well as Nhlanhla Nene (former Finance Minister), the late Jabu Mabuza (former Chairman, Eskom), Caroline Galvan (Lead Economist, World Economic Forum), Chief Justice Mogoeng Moegeng and Mcebisi Jonas (former Deputy Minister of Finance), amongst others.<\/p>\n
